Well, Thursday I decided I wanted to ride with the Thursday group. So I rode the 8 miles to the start and proceeded to get demoralized all the way until the 1/2 way point, maybe. (I would show pictures but forgot the camera at the shop). I am still building base and it was just to hard for me to hang on. I will get there, I just need more time in the saddle. I cruised on back in, ego hurt....but oh well.

I was able to get in some quality hours on the bike this week as well as some good running. I have a run tomorrow morning (Saturday) with Derek. I figure around 8-9 miles or so. I want to check out some new dirt roads I have discovered. That should be fun. On Sunday its back on the bike for Derek's Birthday Ride. It should be around 50 miles or so. I plan on keeping it easy. If the pace gets high I will be in the pack. I will not be the antagonist of that.

Is anyone interested in racing for The Bike Store for the Georgia Cyclo-Cross season? We will have gear (bibs, jerseys) ready by July and then more gear (vests, jackets, etc.) will be ordered for the fall. I want the riders to be interested in the Georgia series but we might travel up to Kentucky for a UCI race or two and I would love to consider nationals, its a long shot but if we can't do it this year we can about it for next year. If anyone is interested let me know via email at: creeves29@hotmail.com. Please let me know in the next month or so so I can plan. Below is me, driving by myself to Augusta and back, by myself, lonely, no team to share the drive.

Thanks!

Chip, Chris, and I rode up to Heritage Park outside Athens, Ga and completed one of the GSC/SERC races. Chris placed 4th and Chip, with two flats still managed a solid 8th. We drove in style with the trailer being pulled by the BS Express.

I managed to enter the woods in 3rd and held the spot for about a mile or so until I decided to crash. Not to toot my own horn but I don't go down to often and this race I managed to go down 3 times. I ended up placing 11th, I managed to give up 9th and 10th place in the last 50 yards but I am not in it for points. I just wanted to get a good hard workout. I did that the first lap and maybe some of the 2nd lap. I ended up cruising pretty much all of the 2nd lap to keep from tapping into my reserves. I was already cramping just a tad. I kind of expected that considering the heat and the lack of hard riding on the mtb. It was fun though. I know I am going to race at the Pig but I don't know about anything else. My training is already taken up by running for the Stumpjump 50K and gearing up for cross.

Thanks for reading!

I have accomplished what I set out to do today. Start getting in quality base mileage for cyclo-cross season. I have been slowly ramping up my running for the Stumpjump 50K and that is going great. I road with the group this morning, as we departed The Bike Store everyone was in good spirits. I ended up getting in just over 2.5 hours in while still keeping my HR low except for in a few spots where it was impossible. I just stayed in the saddle and road up the climbs nice and steady.

I have been waiting all week for my shipment of Myogenesis to come in. It should be here tomorrow at the shop.

Thanks for reading!

So I was reading Dave Zabriskies website earlier and I came across a couple of funny things but this one stuck out:

"Good to see Iron Man raking it in at the box office. I wish Marvel would realized that they have more than enough money to sponsor a bike team and step up as our title sponsor. Everyone could be a different character with custom clothing and bikes. We could probably pull off the reality TV thing more easily this way as every guy could assume the personality of a character – now that'd be good TV. And really, what's real about reality TV anyway" Dave Zabriskie

Now that's a good idea.

I hope all the mothers out there had a great Mothers Day!

I have been reading Bowerman And The Men Of Oregon. Man, what a great read. This book should be read by any sports fanatic. For people who don't know who Bill Bowerman is check it out here.

Oh! I have been running a ton and bike alittle. Legs have been feeling good. I hope to see some people out on the roads.
