Team helmets are in. What do you think? Okay we don't officially have a team helmet but this is what my "team" helmet looks like.

By the way, weather is supposed to be nice this Sunday. Road ride starts at 1:00 on Sunday leaving from the shop. 40-50 miles for the group, 60-65 for me.

Levi's new Madone for the 2008 year. Hell yeah!

If you need a jersey just give Astana a call....man, those things are ugly.

As of right now you can check out team updates, etc. here.

So I was reading some info on the Astana team camp and Ben Coates, the Astana Team Technical Liason said this about the new Bontrager Race X-Lite Hardcase clincher tires:
"The third big success of the camp was that
the team rode the new Bontrager Race X-Lite
Hardcase clincher tire and they had only two
flats all week. At first I was a little bummed to
hear that they had any flats at all, but I quickly
realized how good that was. I was talking with
one of the mechanics and he mention that they
used to have to replace between five and ten
tubes and two or three tires “per day” because
of flats. He was a little nonchalant about it
but I quickly picked up how impressed he was
with the new tires. He even asked if he could
decrease the numbers of tires on his order
because he was not going to have to change
tires as often. It’s not often you get to decrease
an order because the stuff’s so good. They like
the tires, they don’t get flats, and they don’t
need as many, those are all good things for me."

My pair of tires will be mounted tomorrow. Pictures are not up on the Bontrager website so I will post them tomorrow.

I have also changed my 2008 spring campaign.......again. I have decided to just focus seasonally and not the whole year all at once. It is easier with a family, I am finding that out training wise.

Thanks for reading!

Thomson Day

Well I recieved the "fastest lap" award. I don't know if I really deserve it. I only did two laps. I led for the first two and when I went through the start/finish I decided that I will not go back out. I was completely frozen and soaked from head to toe. It wasn't worth it. My only objective was to get in four maybe five laps but with the weather it wasn't healthy or smart to continue.

I was able to renew my SORBA membership during registration.

OMBA did a fantastic job.

I didn't do anything productive today. I figured it was my last lazy day before training for the Cohutta race in April.

Whats on the agenda this week:
Monday-run 30-45 minutes (maybe more if I feel good)
Tuesday -ride
Wednesday- Run
Thursday-ride
Friday- off
Saturday-mtb ride
Sunday- Ride

Windy, that is the only way to describe the new years day ride.

Here is a link to the map from the New Years Day Ride. Thanks Mark.

Thanks to everyone that came out and I hope everyone started the year off right.

17 days left and counting before my first half marathon.

I might be adding the Rock/Creek River Gorge Trail Race 10.2 milerto my schedule for 2008. It is the day before the first GSC race here in Macon so that would make for an eventful weekend.
